What You’ll Need

• A Home Router (always on):
  I recommend the Flint 2 (WiFi option) or the Brume 2 (no-WiFi option) to route traffic from your travel router to your residential IP address (see FAQs).
• A Travel Router:
  The Slate AX Router is highly portable (even pocket-sized) and ideal for on-the-go use.
• Optional Extras:
  • A phone or device with a data hotspot.
  • A power bank (only necessary if your laptop cannot power your travel router).
• Essential Accessories:
  • 2-3 Ethernet cables of varying lengths (the Slate AX includes a small cable). A 5-meter CAT 6 or 8 Ethernet cable may come in handy for indoor use too.
  • A USB-C to Ethernet adapter (if your laptop has only USB-C ports).

What Happens After Purchase?

1. Complete a Simple Setup Form
   After purchase, you’ll receive a short Google Form to customise your configuration preferences.
2. Select a Setup Date
   Choose a date that works for you to have a video/audio call (optional), and I’ll guide you through connecting your home and travel router to your Tailscale account to begin the set up process. Alternatively, there will also be a PDF attached to the order confirmation email to help you connect your routers.
3. Setup Process:
   • I’ll configure your home router(s) which will act as a server to tunnel your data.
   • Then I’ll set up your travel router(s) for you to use while away.
   • Your order status will then change to Completed and you’ll be able to connect your laptop or any other device to the travel router via Ethernet or Wi-Fi.
   • That’s it—you’re all set!

Timeline:

• Standard setup: 2 working days after setup form submission.
• Gold Option setup: 1 working day after setup form submission.

  • Ensure your home internet package has a strong upload speed to optimise your remote download experience.
